Hard Candy

In case you missed it, Madonna's new album, Hard Candy is out soon so she is doing many, many interviews including this month's Elle (UK) magazine.

This is what she says:

"There are no short cuts to being Madonna. It’s all about hard work. There is no easy way. If you want to know how I look like I do, it’s diet and exercise and constantly being careful.”

She also swears by oxygen facials and never goes in the sun, drinks rarely and would like to work out for three hours a day, if she could....

So now you know what you already knew - there is no easy way! In the same interview, Madonna also says she loves Cadbury's Fruit and Nut, Maltesers and her favourite, Cream Eggs.

Yeah, right!

"I'm hungry all the time"

So, on Thursday night, when I took myself off to bed super early, I also took a stash of the Expert Friend's magazines. In this month's eve magazine, which has Julianne Moore on the cover, there is a piece about her new film but, also, about her struggle to maintain her weight....

'I still battle with my deeply boring diet of, essentially, yogurt and breakfast cereal and granola bars,' she says with a grimace. "I hate dieting: I hate having to do it to be the "right" size. I'm hungry all the time. I think I'm a slender person, but the industry doesn't. All actresses are hungry all the time, I think. I tend to gain weight in summer, when my family eats ice cream.'

Blimey; I just found that so utterly depressing and I am not sure which bit is the worst.
