Well, being at home means...chores, chores, chores! But I was determined to get outside today and drag my husband with me so that we would feel we did have some semblance of a weekend.
We drove to a different county and saw some stunning countryside and stopped off at a boutique hotel for a coffee. The crumbs are from a croissant - NOT mine!
I was caught reading because I was utterly riveted by an article called, "My Day on a Plate", which was by Amanda Lacey, facialist. The feature basically lists what someone eats. In a day! Here's a taster...
"8am Breakfast is simple - two clementines....
"7.30pm I like to eat early, and have grilled chicken salad or baked potato. Sometimes I don't eat at all in the evenings, as I believe that the body shuts down after a certain time of day. I also think it gives you a cleaner and clearer palate. I don't find it hard at all - I just don't look in the fridge. You've got to be completely focused, though."
Errr. Yes.
But Nigel Denby, Dietician, gives his verdict:
"Amanda seems almost proud of her ability to exist on little more than thin air!"
That just made me laugh. Of course, it's no laughing matter at all and Nigel doesn't hold back, "It's certainly not a day to be proud of, and not one I could ever recommend as being balanced or healthy."
Amanda Lacey is facialist to the stars. I wish I had an ounce of her determination right now. Maybe tomorrow!!!
PS I still cannot comment on people's blogs - and I've really tried. I am going to try to resolve it tomorrow - but stay strong everyone. I'm lurking - loudly!!
